It's a Monday - every day can't be full of motivation :) :)
For Christmas I received 2 motivational / uplifting calendars... what can I say, the people who love me, know me!! Today's quote from "You are doing a FREAKING GREAT job" calendar:
May I give myself the love, kindness, and compassion I deserve.
Sometimes that gets challenging. Feeling deserving of that self-love and compassion that for me is easy to give to others. I can almost always see both sides to a story...fault or understanding on either side...but I've been known to have a difficult time cutting myself some slack. I know some others in my life deal with the same, so I figure it's something to talk about today! It's tough sometimes to hear a compliment and feel you deserve it or have earned it. This year I want to work on accepting compliments better. To hear "You're amazing!" or "You're a good cook." or "You're beautiful" and learn to say thank you - to take it to heart and believe it rather than jumping to, "I'm okay..." or "Ehhh, I'm not beautiful..." I urge you to do the same with me this year if you find yourself in the same boat! We want our friends, family and children to believe in themselves -- we need to set the example.
The past two days I had woke up motivated to hit the gym. I went with Steve on the 1st and 2nd and was really proud about that. This morning was Monday... back to work... back to reality... and I was not feeling it. I've been sore from working out for the first times in forever and figured I would take today off from the gym anyhow, but I'm thinking that I will go later on tonight and at least walk on the treadmill. My eating hasn't been amazing today -- finishing off a peanut butter block and falling into the temptation of cheez-its. Dinner will be grilled chicken and asparagus though so I'll make up for it, but I figure I owe it to myself to either go to the gym or do a home workout. I know every day won't be perfect, but I'm still owning it -- still logging in MFP -- still holding myself accountable.
The other thing that I started on the 1st was my temperature blanket. It's coming along great. It's going to be massive and I'm going to love it!! So far it's just one color -- can't wait til we get some variations in temps to spice it up!! I'm also working on this super soft blanket with this velvet yarn -- it's amazing.
I'm not really sure what this blog will become this year, but if you have any suggestions please let me know. I figure this is another tool for me to be accountable with. If you'd like to join me on MFP (My Fitness Pal) my user name is perfectlyimperfect83 I tend to be good at starting with logging, tracking, any type of routine really -- but then I fall off quickly. As the year begins, I will be creating goals for myself to help keep me on track -- first MFP goal is simply logging for 7 days straight. It may seem like nothing for some people, but this will be big for me.
Alrighty -- I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!!
